Little Scholars School of Early Learning is a family-owned early childhood education provider with 17 purpose-built campuses across South East Queensland, serving families in the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Ipswich, and Redland Bay. Established by Jae Fraser in 2014, the organisation began with the acquisition of a single campus on the northern Gold Coast. It has subsequently grown into one of the region's largest independent early learning networks, supporting over 7,000 children and employing more than 500 staff across its centres.
Jae Fraser, who founded Little Scholars, has more than 20 years of experience in early childhood education and care. He holds university qualifications in education, early childhood, and business management and has professional experience in teaching, centre operations, and executive leadership in Australia and internationally. Fraser has also been involved in the growth of some of Australia's largest early learning organisations. He remains active within the early childhood sector through leadership involvement with the Australian Childcare Alliance and The Fraser Foundation, an initiative supporting early childhood educators nationally.
The educational curriculum developed by Little Scholars is internally branded as "The Collective." It is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach and provides play-based, holistic learning for children from six weeks to school age. The philosophy places emphasis on curiosity, creativity, exploration, and independent discovery rather than rote instruction. Each campus functions as a "Learn & Play Studio" with programs structured to support different stages of development, including Nursery & Infant Care, Toddler Programs, Junior & Senior Kindy, Kindergarten, and Before/After-School and Vacation Care.
Little Scholars complements its core learning programs with several specialised initiatives. The Stingless Bees program provides a nature-based beekeeping experience, while the Intergenerational Program connects children with elderly community members through "Grandfriends". The organisation also provides Outdoor Explorers (Bush Kinder), Wondernest VR, and the Family Time Program, which offers additional support to families through on-campus services and take-home meals. Little Scholars incorporates the Abecedarian Reading approach as a structured early literacy method and maintains an Environment and Sustainability focus throughout its campuses.
Little Scholars operates under The Scholars Group corporate structure and distinguishes its model from larger corporate childcare chains, including Goodstart, G8 Education, and Guardian Childcare. The organisation places emphasis on its independent, family-owned structure and its ability to make centre-level decisions without the corporate bureaucracy associated with larger operators. Its longer-term plans are represented by the "2036 Vision," which establishes a stated benchmark for future growth and quality.
